Welcome to Bishopton PRU
We believe in:
‘Transforming lives and achieving success’
At Bishopton we love and celebrate the uniqueness and individuality of all children and young people. We are also acutely aware that many children and young people face obstacles, challenges and disruption along the way and we believe that education should be sensitive to this and tailored to meet pupils’ individual and specific needs in an environment that is safe, nurturing and inspirational.
In collaboration with our mainstream schools, we work with children and young people in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. Pupils can access Bishopton on a partnership basis, funded by their mainstream school, the emphasis being on academic intervention, behaviour support and successful re-integration back into their home school. We also educate pupils who have been permanently excluded from school and our goal is to ensure that these young people receive an education that is comparable to mainstream with high expectations of academic success to ensure all pupils go on to experience success in their next stage in education, training or employment.
With many years’ experience and staff expertise we also work with pupils who are dealing with anxiety and/or other mental health issues that are impacting on their education, self-esteem and confidence. These pupils can access our Redhill building. With a unique, small and caring environment we work with those pupils offering a therapeutic approach as well as good quality teaching and learning to support them into fostering a more positive view of themselves and their abilities. Again, the primary aim is re-integration back into school so that they can go on to transform their lives and achieve success.
We also offer one to one teaching to pupils with medical needs that are affecting their ability to access school at present, so that the disruption to their education and progress is minimised and they are supported through a difficult time in their lives and their families’ lives.
We have a large heart and strong British values at Bishopton, we believe our pupils, given the right guidance, can go on to make their lives extraordinary and make our future much brighter
